The Godwins have graced this pleasant land for over 1000 years; the origins of the name are from the Norsk words; ‘God’ – good and ‘Wine’ meaning friend. 

This site was created as a result of collaboration between Paul Gebhard, Reg Godwin and myself. 

In a short time we have managed to trace our roots back to Stafford 1600’s.

Now we have decided to make the site an open forum for all Godwin families worldwide with the aim of finding common ancestors
