0:24 h I have discovered one of my GODWINS in the 'Less We Forget' section - Norman Harold GODWIN, son of Charles and Agnes Ethel GODWIN, of Northfield, Birmingham ( known to me as a child as Uncle Charles and Aunt Ethel - my grandfather, Albert Victor GODWIN's brother and sister-in-law ) I also lived in Northfield in the same house as my parents ( Stanley and Joyce GODWIN ) and my grandparents ( Albert Victor GODWIN and Florence Ethel GODWIN nee HOLT )

7:43 h Nice list of MacDivitts. I believe the Samuel (b 1847) was my g-g-g-grandfather and his son George was my g-g-grandfather. My g-grandfather was also called Samuel and my grandfather was also called George. Here is a memorial of another George MacDivitt who fell at the Somme. http://www.oodwooc.co.uk/web_pics/fittle/Fittle14.jpg. There are so many Georges in this family I haven't quite worked out where this one fits in. It's a while since I looked at the genealogy..

Hi Stephen,
I've just looked at your Godwin website and found it very impressive. The Allcott's you have noted I believe I am related . My father, and his father, upto my great grandfather, were all George William Allcotts, who originated in the Winson Green area. I only started researching my ancestors in the early part of this year, and have put it on hold now until the winter as I'm having an extension on my house. When I start again I will be looking up information relating to my grandfather, George William Allcott, who died tragically, I believe, when he was young. I'm not sure if the memorial card on your website may be his?
From your website I have established Eliza Allcotts maiden name of Cooper and some other useful names. I do not think I have much that would help your research into the Allcotts, but please contact me if you wish. Regards John Allcott
